Willamette Valley Pinot Noir

Willamette Valley in Oregon is renowned for its Pinot Noir. On our most recent visit to Willamette Valley, we stopped in at Four Graces. One of my favorite wineries. They’ve got a really quaint tasting room in an old renovated farmhouse. They have space to sit outside or inside a couple of other farmhouse buildings on the grounds.

And their wine is absolutely delicious!!

Their focus is Pinot Noir, as it should be in the Willamette Valley region. They also throw in a Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, and Rosé of Pinot Noir. The Pinot Gris is the only one not made with the Pinot Noir grape. Pinot Gris is actually a white grape and the wine made from this grape has a light-bodied, crisp taste.

Back to Pinot Noir, they offered ruby red deliciousness from their different vineyard sites and crafted some fantastic wines to swoon over. Their Pinot Blanc is made with the Pinot Noir grape, but the grape skins are removed at the beginning of the winemaking process. This wine was crisp and delicious.

The Rosé of Pinot Noir was lovely too. The Pinot Noir grapes are lightly pressed with the skins on and then removed early in the process to keep the wine color a pale pink. As luck would have it, the day of our visit was National Rosé Day. Who knew that existed? Not me…but we enjoyed our rosé all the more because of it!
